Project Summary

In 2022 The National History Museum launched their 75th Year programming calendar with

F.E.Chaudhary Memorial Photography Competition proposed and executed by the Curator. The

competition was held in the honor of the late acclaimed Photographer F.E.Chaudhary.

Faustin Elemir Chaudhary was one of the Pakistan’s most highly acclaimed photographers renowned for his photographs of the 1947 Partition. The photographer’s legacy was of great significance to the museum as some of his great photographs and equipment was donated to the museum before his death. The memorial competition and exhibition in his honor was a project to open conversations around Photo-journalists of Pakistan , their practice and stories and narratives around archives.
